Hello, friends! I still don’t think I have fully processed the fact that I AM A MARRIED WOMAN. It is so crazy to me that after all the weddings I have captured over the years from Houston, Texas to Nashville, Tennessee, it is finally time to show my own wedding! While I may still not be used to using the term “husband” quite yet, I am LOVING this new honeymoon stage that Brent and I are in. Even if we aren’t on the 360 degree beach island of Antigua anymore. Keep an eye out for a honeymoon post soon so you can experience the relaxation we felt!
While I can’t share all of the photos from my big day, I definitely want to show off how gorgeously our amazing photographer, Michelle, captured our big day!
Let’s get started!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that Detail shots are one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. We went ALL out to make sure my own details were ready to be photographed and that they would go perfectly together. When designing my invitation suite, I knew I wanted Brown Fox Creative to make them. I had been admiring her work for a couple years and when it came to my own wedding, I knew I wanted to have her make the invitations. Her soft touches of mountain and little flower illustrations paired with the deckled edges made my invitation suite dreams come true in front of my eyes.
This suite was the center point of most of my details and lead to me creating the rest of my details in its likeness. I actually designed and made all of the rest of the stationary for the day (with the help of my super willing then-fiance of course) over the course of 3 months before the wedding. I had never tried my hand at deckled edges and wax seals, but boy do I have respect for stationary designers now!
A sweet fact about this Handkerchief with the embroidered F on it is that this actually was handmade ( fabric, embroidery, and all) by my now Great Great Grandmother-In-Law for her daughter Francis. When my Mother-In-Law found it with some family heirlooms she thought it would be a perfect addition to my wedding details and she was so right! I loved this sweet gift and will cherish it always.
I can go on and on about picking my vendors, but what I will say is that I was extremely intentional about who I wanted to be a part of my day and who would make it special.
First, my makeup artist was one of my Sweetest most dear fellow Texas wedding vendor-turned-friend, Meghan with Magnolia Girl Makeup who flew ALL THE WAY FROM TEXAS to my Tennessee wedding to do my and my bridesmaids’ makeup and to be there to support me walking down the aisle. I love her so much and have no idea what I did to deserve to have her help make me beautiful.
Second, my hair team was actually one of my old Alumnae sorority Advisors from my Chi Omega chapter at The University of Tennessee who was known for doing all the girls’ in my chapter’s hair. And she surprised me by having another old advisor I was also super close with in college be her assistant! It was so sweet having these two who were such a big role in my time as a college sorority girl be a part of the best day ever.
Atlas knew the whole day was really about him.
He even walked himself down the aisle.
And then we partied away with our closest friends and family.
And then we lived out my Disney Princess Dreams in a special moment together with some paper lanterns.
Then we said goodbye to our dear family and friends and drove off into the night to our little airbnb!
