It’s officially engagement season! This proposal was definitely one for the books and I couldn’t wait to show it off!
I had the privilege of capturing Will and Kelsey’s beautiful proposal at the Downtown Franklin Tennessee Theatre a few weekends ago. Will reached out to me after my sister-in-law, Emily, had shown him my work one night and asked if I would be a part of his engagement proposal to his beautiful girlfriend, Kelsey. I was so honored! We were in communication for days and had a secret on location meeting to finalize every last detail. Kelsey had her mind on an engagement and was expecting it every time they went somewhere. Will made sure to come up with the best surprise for her!
Kelsey’s family means everything to her. So when her parent’s told her they were going out of town this weekend, her thoughts of a possible proposal went out the window. Little did she know, they were not out of town, but were picking up her sister who lives in London from the airport in secret to surprise Kelsey at an engagement party that night! Will told her that they were going to a birthday dinner for his grandfather, so gift bag in tow, he had a great place to hide the ring!
When I arrived to the proposal location, I was so excited! The theater changed the marquee from the normal current showing to Will’s big question. I arrived about an hour before the couple to photograph the details of the marquee and get set-up. My lovely assistant, Jill, joined me right before the proposal happened to pretend to be my model! We captured the moment unfold, then spent an hour photographing fun portraits with the couple all around downtown Franklin.

You’d be surprised how many people asked if I was Kelsey and I had to say “Yes, but not THAT Kelsey” haha
He had the ring hidden in the gift bag so Kelsey had no idea!
The Fall leaves did not disappoint in making Downtown Franklin even more magical!
