Everyone knows that Savannah, Georgia is a hidden gem. If you want a relaxing, yet fun trip, you must check this place out. Whether you are with family or friends, you will have a great time exploring this town. There is so much you can do between eating, having some drinks, exploring and even shopping. I am going to break it down into a few lists.
Exploring
Savannah Land & Sea Tour: One of the most popular things to do. See Savannah by land and water on a guided city trolley and to follow, a sightseeing riverboat cruise. Admire all the city lights and enjoy the wonderful commentary by your tour guides. It is kid friendly too!
Forsyth Park: This park is iconic and you must make the time to walk through it. Grab a snack and drink and start at Colin’s Quarter and make your way around. It has beautiful scenery including Spanish moss that you will not want to miss.
Shopping
The Paris Market: If you like coffee and walking around looking at little trinkets, this is the place for you! It is a two-story market with coffee shops on first floor and shops above. One of the best places to buy your souvenirs.
The Edition: This is for my girls that love the luxury designer items. This place is stunning and has amazing items in their shops. Even if you aren’t one to purchase luxury things, it is still fun to walk through and glance at them!
Eating
Colin’s Quarter: Great for a breakfast or brunch. Probably the most popular spot you could choose. They do have two locations that you can go too, downtown and Forsyth Park (typically the park location is less busy). It has the best food and such a fun atmosphere!
Funky Brunch: For anyone traveling with kids, this is the place to go. The restaurant lets you draw your own pancakes and then they cook them right in front of you! Kids usually have so much fun with this. Be prepared to stand in line though, they do not take reservations.
Plant Riverside District: This area is totally new, right on the river. I don’t have a specific lunch spot as there are many down there along with some shops and even live music! You could spend a whole afternoon down there exploring and eating (maybe even stay there for dinner too).
Stone & Webster Steakhouse: This is a great restaurant for date night or if you are just feeling fancy. It is on the pricier side but it is so worth it. They have amazing appetizers, of course their steak, and cocktails too! It is located just under the JW Marriot hotel and has the best atmosphere.
Drinks
The Peregrin Rooftop: The best rooftop bar to grab drinks with your girlfriends. It is so cute, with the most amazing views and the most delicious drinks! A must-see.
Electric Moon Rooftop: If you want to have a great time and an upbeat night, this is your place. It has a slide that connects one floor to the other, now that sounds like so much fun! They play fun music, yard games, huge flatscreen TVs and again, great rooftop views.
Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Garden: This is located over the new Plant Riverside District. Brand new, beautiful views, a fantastic spot for those Instagram photos, and delicious cocktails. I would recommend starting at the Plant Riverside District for food first then head up to the rooftop for drinks at night!
Well, that concludes my top places to check out while you are in the area. It really is such a fun and beautiful town with endless things to do. Whether you stay on land or make it out to the river cruise, you will get to see amazing sights and views. Enjoy your visit to Savannah, Georgia!
