Charleston, SC is one of my top favorite places to visit and to recommend to people who want to take a fun yet relaxing vacation. It’s such a unique location to visit because there are so many surrounding towns and areas that are just as charming as downtown Charleston itself. Also, if you love the beach you’ve come to the right place. There are many just a short drive away like Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island and more. You can’t possibly get bored here! What Charleston, SC has to offer to you:
Places to Stay
Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina: One of the best hotels in town. It has that beachy-vaction vibe to it that I love. It makes you feel like you are right on the beach compared to the urban hotels in downtown Charleston. Great for a family trip.
Hotel Bennet: If you love to splurge a little on your hotel and stay here, you will not be disappointed. It is right in the heart of all the action in downtown and has the cutest pink champagne bar. The decorations, the drinks, and the good vibes are unmatched!
Hampton Inn Historic District: This is going to be one of the more affordable places to stay. If you plan on doing a lot of exploring and not spending much time in the hotel, this is a great option. It will be your typical hotel right in downtown Charleston.
Places to Eat
Breakfast
Poogan’s Porch: This is the famous breakfast spot in Charleston. The breakfast food is the best in town, you really cannot go wrong with what you choose to order. If you are a first-timer here, do not miss your opportunity to eat here.
Grace and Grit: All you need to know is it is delicious! This will be your typical Southern Style cooking. This is a great place to grab some mimosas too!
Lunch
Monza: Who loves pizza? This is your spot! It is the brick oven, tastes like it is straight from Italy pizza. So authentic and so yummy. Great option for a quick lunch.
Po’s Tavern: This is a local’s favorite that is always recommended to visitors. This is also a great option for lunch after shopping or day at the beach.
Five Lovers Cafe: The ultimate soup and sandwich shop. There are two locations you can go to, Mount Pleasant and Downtown Charleston too! Be sure to include this place on your itinerary.
Dinner
Hall’s Chophouse: A delicious Southern fine dining spot that is on the pricier end. This is a staple downtown. I will always recommend this spot to people!
Magnolia’s: Just trust me when I say I could eat here everyday if I could. Every item on the menu is amazing! It is also your traditional Southern style cooking spot (a little bit on the higher end) but a must-go restaurant!
Things To Do
Rainbow Row: Everyone knows about Rainbow Row! It is an iconic spot in Charleston that you cannot miss seeing. This area is located at 83 E Bay Street and includes multiples blocks of gorgeous, colorful historic homes! Don’t forget to bring your camera, you’ll want to take all the pictures!
Two Cumberland: This is for all my girls that love to shop! Here you will find a wide variety of things that are very affordable and you can take back home with you. There are two locations also, Mount Pleasant and Downtown Charleston.
King Street: Where you’ll find the main strip of restaurants and shopping. Everyone loves going here because everything is all in one place!
South of Broad & Hampton Park: Of course I have to recommend these because they are a photographer’s dream! They are known for their beautiful architecture and picture-worthy locations, stunning Spanish moss and blooming flowers everywhere! Both located near downtown Charleston.
Charleston, SC has so much to offer! It is stunning, relaxing, kid-friendly town to visit. Be sure to add it to your bucket list of places to visit.
