I am so excited to finally share images from Allie and Nick’s Gatlinburg Tennessee wedding! Their whole day was truly full of pure happiness and love even with a little bit of rain. They love being goofy together and always have a lot of fun. Allie mentioned they are both homebodies but also love to plan things and like to have little weekend trips together whenever they can. They live on a farm and their weekends are mostly spent on yard and house projects together. She keeps things logical and he keeps things fun- a perfect balance if I do say so myself! You could see throughout the day just how much of a team they are! Their life together definitely made their Gatlingburg wedding feel extra special to them and their family.
It was so much fun to get to know them and really capture all the sweet moments of their day. Allie talked about how special both her and Nick’s parents are to them and how they are their role models. It was so sweet to watch all these precious relationships in real life on their wedding day. During the reception all of the women even circled around the bride to sing such a sweet song together! What a beautiful day full of family and friends and a lot of love and happiness!
Their Beginning To a Happy Ever After:
“We met online via the hinge app. I was actually really hesitant at first. I actually cancelled our first date because I thought he was too eager and my affinity for true crime podcasts made me nervous about him. Luckily, I rescheduled for the next day at a familiar location and I went in with the expectation to just give him an hour. We joke now that it was a pitty date. But we hit it off and ended up closing the place down after chatting for 6 hours. Now, normally I’m an introvert and really like my space. Socializing once a week is more than enough for me. But immediately following our first date, we were nearly inseparable. We had at least 4 or 5 dates a week and have been that way ever since.”
Popping the Question:
“One Wednesday night, I knew Nick was going to be asking for my dad’s blessing while my mom, little brother, and I left the house to give them some privacy. About halfway through our dinner, I get a text from my dad saying “We’re done”… then neither Nick nor my dad would respond or give details on how it went.
I was such a nervous wreck, I couldn’t even eat my dinner. I had figured if he did get the green light, it would still be a few weeks because Nick loves to really plan things. Once we got home, Nick and I went back over to my house and I immediately said,
“TELL ME EVERYTHING” and his only response was “I need to go to the bathroom first”.
Then he looks at me and says, “You know how much I love you, right?” My stomach DROPPED because this could go either way. Then he hugged me and said, “I’m not going to tell you about my talk with your dad until after I propose”.
So immediately I’m saying “You’re really going to make me wait to even know if you got his blessing?!?!”
That’s when my sweet Nicholas dropped on one knee and asked me to marry him. I don’t remember much after that because I blacked out mentally but apparently, I just asked a hundred times if this was real, if he was serious, and if this means that my dad said yes.
Needless to say, I was completely caught off-guard in the best way and now we get to plan the rest of our lives together!”
What an amazing story! It is the best receiving a little background information on my couples before shooting their wedding. It makes it that much more special for me as a photographer to watch and capture.
Allie and Nick: Thank you so much for choosing me to capture your special day and to spend even more time with your families! I am so happy that I was able to be such an important part of your wedding day and I can’t wait to watch your marriage grow. Your strong love for each other and great attitudes made a rainy wedding day so beautiful! This day could not have gone any better! I wish you all the happiness in your future together.
Cheers to forever and ever, Allie and Nick!
